This is a favorite festival with nationally sanctioned competitions, great performances, air-conditioned comfort by day in a Civic Center and lots of fun jamming, lakeside barbecue dinners, etc in the evenings.
June 11, 12, 13, 2009 are the dates for the 12th Annual Grand Lake National Fiddle Fest in Grove, OK on Grand Lake O' the Cherokees with $1000 Grand Prize for the fiddle contest. It's nationally certified by Weiser, with the five great judges for this year confirmed: Valerie O'Brian, TX; Junior Daugherty, NM; Bobby Taylor, WV; Vi Wickam, IN; and Dale Morris, TX, who will also give a fiddle workshop.

Enter one fiddle division: Open, Pee Wee, Jr. Jr., Junior, Adult, or Senior Enter many other contests: Twin Fiddle, Hot Fiddle, "Take Me Back to Tulsa" (best rendition of a Bob Wills tune), Jukebox (best acoustic group with at least one fiddle), Honeycreek Special (gambler's draw), 30 Minute Band Contest Pickin' Contests are held on Friday, June 12: Flatpicking, Dobro, Banjo, Mandolin - all pickers welcome!
