Hello, everyone!
How was your snowy weekend? I think that Punxsutawney groundhog was wrong... :( I'm so ready for Spring!
It's Carnival in BR but since this is not a big deal in US, the work week starts with lots to do. But if you behave during the week and do your work, I can give you some tips where you can have fun and be the bad girl / bad boy for the weekend... :)
Quebec, Canada: Starting Friday - Chantez-vous bien chez nous Festival.
Nashville, TN, USA: Tory Bailey and Justin David show for the Forget-me-not Music Series to benefit the Nashville chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.
Memphis, TN, USA: The 2007 International Folk Alliance Conference with lots of shows and other activities.
Everywhere, BR: CARNAVAL!!
Of course, there is a long list of great shows and events going on. And I know some of you will enjoy these festivals over the weekend. I'll be traveling to the opposite direction though. So, please, take pictures and tell me everything later!
Have a great week!

Grammys 2007: Dixie Chicks - Album of the year!
0 comments Posted by Bengal at Sunday, February 11, 2007Night, everyone!
I was able to watch just part of the Grammys 2007 tonight but I enjoyed the results although Sergio Mendes didn't win the award for Timeless. All the final results on the awards will be everywhere tomorrow.
I learned to appreciate more the country music after I moved to Nashville and I'm very happy that tonight was Dixie Chicks night. Did you know that they are the highest selling female group in any genre? I didn't know that. According to many sources, they hold the distinction of being the only country group in history and the only female group of any genre to earn back-to-back Diamond Awards signifying 10 million in record sales! If you want to know more about them, check their official website or other interesting links at the wikipedia.
Bengal,
in need of another weekend...
:)
Hello, everyone!
I'm finally having time to organize things a little bit better and since many of you asked about some of the titles in my collection, here is one more: Pris sur le vif by Tomas Jensen & Les Faux-Monnayers.
Tomas was born in Argentina, and after living in Chile, Brazil and France, he took up residence in Canada, more preciselly Québec. :) His new album, Pris sur le vif, brings songs from Pierre Lapointe, Zeca Baleiro and the great Caetano Veloso. Five of the 21 tunes are sang in Portuguese. For my Brazilian friends, pay particular attention to the song Le Vent du Nord that is quite a French Frevo!
Check some of the songs in his website. You can click on the image and go to salle d'écoute. In this page you have the option to hear to many of these songs.
Have fun!
Bengal,
